Goodbye Halong Bay. Hello Nha Thrang

I've heard so much about Halong Bay and that it is nominated to be one of the SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD. After stepping foot to the place, I can't less agree with the fact that it is incredibly beautiful and without a doubt to be classified as one of the SEVEN wonders.
All of us were taken on a boat tour around the island and I was mesmerized with the beauty of the sea & mountains. The scenery looks exactly like the scenery shot in the movie, Pirates of the Carribean and I am contemplating if they did really shot it there?hmprh... Whatever it is, I felt like I was Keira Knightley. lol. The only unfortunate thing is that so happen it was the raining season and it kinda spoil a few amazing plans that were organized for us. Perhaps its a sign for us to go back for more :) :)

Inside the beautiful boat ...
Miss Vietnam, Miss Malaysia, Miss Trinidad & Tobago, Miss India
Our mummy Huong & her children ;p

Well, after exactly 4 days of touring certain part of Vietnam, rapid packing n unpacking our luggages within these 4 days from our first destination Saigon to Danang by air which we stayed 1 night. Then continued with our flight to Hanoi for also 1 night and the following day of 4 hours bus ride to Halong Bay for 2 nights. Today was our journey to our final destination, Nha Thrang which we headed back to Hanoi first by bus again and then straight took an hour and a half flight to Nha Thrang. Finally we will be staying put in one place till the finals in Diamond Bay Resort, the biggest resort which is a brand new resort and certain areas are still under construction. This means that we can claim as their first hotel guests. WOW. Honoured! hehe.
Anyway I enjoyed our welcome dinner party last night and it's mainly because we were all allowed to rock the dance floor. Gotta bounce... Be right back with more & more updates.

National Gifts Auction @ Saigon

Earlier this evening, I mentioned that we are attending a dinner function and it is the National gift charity auction dinner at Sheraton Hotel, Saigon. All of us, the 81 beauty queens has brought unique national gifts from our respective country to be auction for charity purpose at this dinner event. The whole event turned out well. Firstly, the response for the auctioning were good and this big poster of the autographs from all of the beauty queens got a good bid of 180 million DONG (Vietnam Dollars). As for my national gift which is a pewter with carved prints of all the main buildings and icons in Malaysia was auctioned out for 230 USD. Quite a good bid too.

*The Big Poster with 81 beauty queens autographs*

The dinner buffet was simply delicious too. Not to mention, the dessert section never seem to disappoint me. I gotta stop my cravings over these.. SINFUL!!!

and another main reason we enjoyed ourselves is because it was Natalia, MISS BRAZIL's 24th birthday. Celebrating her special day with all of us was fantastic. I suppose? :D Well, Happy Birthday babe and hope you had a blast with us!!!

Once again, all of us had soOo much fun rocking our souls till the end of the night.

Performance by the famous Vietnam musical instrument girl band.

And the traditional musical instrument band. Great performance indeed.

National Costume Parade @ Saigon

Before getting some shut eye, as I've promised, updates of the National Costume Day Parade in the Lions Theater at Saigon Outlet Mall in Binh Duong province, outside Ho Chi Minh city on the 22nd June 2008.
We reached there early in the afternoon for lunch buffet at the mall and we were allowed to do a lil shopping in the mall. I got myself a pretty floral cute top which only cost bout 4 USD? Cheap huh? :p
Look at what Zana, Miss Kosovo or a.k.a Angelina Jolie look alike bought!!!
So many adorable soft toys.. Awww.. I soooOoo wanna steal em from her ;p Btw, those Vietnamese traditional hats are given to each and every one of us as soveniers. Beautiful aite?
[[Camwhore pics of me with the cute hat]]
*Smiley ?*

And let me introduce my so called "boyfriend" ELISA MISS MEXICO. She stand 6 feet 1 in height. The perfect height to be my darling. I heart her muchos.
I look like a midget standing next to her but it make me feel secure. hehe. She is undeniable a sweetheart.. The picture says it all. Pic taken at the charity auction event. Sweet & loving pair aite? She definitely pass to be my darling boyfriend =D
I also showed off my professional skill of camwhoring using the mirror reflection in our dressing room. LOL.

A picture of me parading on the stage which I found through google. Thanks to the photographer. I think the costume is wonderful and I am honoured to wear it. Totally represents where I come from. Malaysia TRULY Asia !!! Don't you think so?

We are all divided into 9 groups according to the alphabetical order of our country names and from each group, the judges would choose only 1 winner which means there will be 9 winners for this particular traditional costume competition parade. However there were an exclusive extra winner which is Miss Vietnam as she was easily the crowd favourite. Congrats babe! U deserve ut :) Anyway for my group, Miss Mexico was the winner *triple cheers* Her costume is an amazing piece! Just look at the pic below. She is the one smacked right in the middle and I am just next to her. I feel soOo tiny...

Last but not least, my photo from the Traditional Costume photoshoot we did this morning.

Now, I need to reach out all Malaysians out there and Non Malaysian as well who love this traditional costume for support and to do some votings. There will be an internet voting competition for the best traditional costume and in conjnction to that, I do hope for some patriotic support.

Thank You All in advance.

A pic taken in the bus with The sweet Ms Russia(Vera) The Lolita Dollie Ms Ukraine(Eleonora) The Extreme Fun Ms Estonia(Julia) and The Naomi Campbell look alike Ms Nigeria(Samantha) on this sunny afternoon of our official 2nd day. 18 beauty queens were brought to Ho Chih Min for a city tour around the famous tourist centre & memorial buildings which were build eversince the French govern era whereas the rest hav their own scheduled task. Its a tough job for the supervisors and securities to actually bring and guard all the 81 of us at one go. They are already havin a hard time eventho there are only the few of us.U can never imagine the massive attack of photo sessions n deliberately warm welcome from everyone once we step out of our hotel or busses. The situation is typically like what you watch on tv of how Hollywood celebrities make their appearance to public.Anyway we are back at the hotel now to get ready for our cocktail dinner party..chill out. With love,Malaysia

Riyo Mori

Finally we get to meet the o so famous stunning Miss Universe 2007,Riyo Mori from Japan who made all of us Asian proud at the welcome dinner tonight. Most were wearing gorgeous evening dresses but somehow i decided to proudly represent Malaysia instead and go wit somethin more traditional which is a kebaya dress by Mazlan Juju.I had a choice but funny as it sounds,I feel fun n happy to present our traditional costume cos i m delightful that we actually hav one:)

Adverlets - Made Of Honour

I started blogging since 2003 which is quite sometime back when blogging wasn't the trend yet but all along I ain't active with the blogger community neither participated in any blogger event because somehow the connection wasn't there . However, recently I am more enthusiastic to be in the blogger community and on the recent Thursday night, I had a special invitation by Adverlets to attend Made of Honour dinner at JW Marriot. Thanks for the courtesy and I totally enjoyed my this very first participation in the blogging world :)

The dresscode theme for the night was PASTEL FORMAL clothing and I had a hard time searching for it. Most of my clothes comes in either striking colors or even though if I do have pastel color clothing, then it would be very casual ones. Sweat betul~ but thank god somehow I manage to just cincai transform my casual babydoll dress to a semi formal one :p

The pastel girlies :)

(Steal!)The young growing pretty budderflyx.

Last but not least, the pic of the night :)

I didn't able to capture any pics using my camera that night and had to steal fr others. The silly thing is, I actually brought my camera out but only to know then that I left the battery charging at home -.-"'

Karaoke Celebration

Bet most of you would think that I would throw an awesome and extraordinary huge celebration for my success or so I thought...

The so called only celebration I had was karaoke session with my girlies & the rappo D.T.

Pic with my babes - Vin,ShanT & EstherN

and with Rappo D.T in the house!

Not to forget, the usual routine of camwhoring in the ladies! *haha* Every girls forte! Tell me that I am wrong :D

Oh ya! If you noticed, 4 of us coincidentally dressed up in the same combination of color, black&white and even the fashion style is about the same. I have to agree with the quote of GREAT MIND THINKS ALIKE *wink*

With muchos love of my darling babez!

There goes my only celebration with my buddies so far. Somehow, my schedule is bit too packed up these days because I had to settle a wholesome of stuff here before heading off to Vietnam for 1 month! As usual, 24 hours a day is never enough for me.. and even if I do have time, most of it are well spend with my family and relatives. Just cherishing every moment with em. I am also trying to spare some time for lil catching up moments with my buddies, tonnes of dinner function that I have to attend as well and not to forget, I have to cope up with my uni assignments and workload. However my busyness won't stop me from the blogging world and I will try my best to do lil updates from time to time. I wouldn't mind taking away my beauty sleep time just to keep this blog alive. Hope my effort will be appreciated tho! :p

Utar student crowned Miss Malaysia Universe

By YIP YOKE TENG

KUALA LUMPUR: Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman student Levy Li Su Lin was crowned Miss Malaysia Universe 2008, beating 13 other contenders.

The 20-year-old representing Terengganu, who is also a part-time model, is heading to Nha Thrang, Vietnam for the Miss Universe 2008 Pageant in mid-June.

The crowd favourite also clinched five of the 16 subsidiary titles at the beauty pageant held at The Gardens Hotel, Mid Valley yesterday.

Her interpretation of the pageant's theme “Real women behind the beauty” won her rapturous applause.

Winning smiles:
Miss Malaysia Universe 2008 Li (centre), flanked by first runner-up Thor (left) and second runner-up Chan, posing for photographers in Kuala Lumpur Friday.

“Beauty must come in a whole package and it is just as its letters suggest – B, brain; E, elegance, A, attitude, U, unique, T, tall that means standing tall and be confident, and Y, yourself,” she said.

Jean Thor Jean Nee, 23, from Federal Territory, and Valerie Chan Hsueh Yi, 23, from Sarawak, won the first and second runner-up titles, respectively.

************************************************************

I flipped through every single pages of the paper and yet almost couldn't spot the news coverage because I guess I looked pretty bad in the photo that even myself could not recognize it. How hilarious could this be? I am not the only one who think so but everyone else who knows me was pretty shocked. The only thing which caught their attention was the one only remarkable name of mine *chey* LOL. Anyway, seriously I can't blame if there are people out there who has the thinking of "How the heck on earth Malaysia can have such unqualified beauty queen to hold the title and represent Malaysia?" Although photos speak a thousand words but definitely not this one. I guess at some point of time everyone will have their worst angle shot and so happened for me, it had to be this one to be my so called "picture perfect" publicized on national newspaper. I do admit that I am soOo not photogenic tho. Well, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder and I guess like wise man says, "Surviving a big disaster, is guaranteed to be followed by a pot of luck" haha. Taking this optimistically, at least when I go out walking on the streets, no one can recognize and stalk me. It's a total advantage for me! =)

Anyway here's a glimpse of few other photo's captured on that memorable night.

*posing with Amber Chia who is one of the honorable judges*

Levy Li Su Lin Warm Welcome

Levy Li Su Lin holla aloud to welcome all my genuine readers and friends to my whole new revamped site. This site is a space for me to write and share bits and pieces of my life after being crowned as Miss Malaysia Universe 2008 and the journey after this. At least through this, it will keep y'all updated with the walk through during this time of my life.

Although from today onwards I may have a rather tight schedule compared to before but I will still try my very best to update as regularly as I can. Once a blogger will always be a blogger :) However not everything about my life is gonna be detailed in here and therefore it will be appreciated that no outer judgment should be made just by going through this site. The last thing you want to do is to get yourself blinded by the manipulative cover. Therefore always live up with the motto of Never Judge A Book By it's Cover :)

Before I log out from this new home sweet home, I would like to thank everyone once again for all the well wishes and supportive messages. Especially very much appreciate the wholesome support from my dearest loved ones. To those who I haven't manage to reply, please do accept my sincere apology. Will catch up with y'all whenever I have the time and once I am back from Vietnam, which means that will only be by end of July. Vietnam? Yes, I will be representing Malaysia to Nha Thrang, Vietnam for about ONE MONTH to compete for the International Miss Universe 2008 title.

I will do my best to make Malaysia proud and if y'all miss me, y'all may still catch me on national tv during the live telecast of Miss Universe 2008. Till then, stay tune ere aite!
*crowning session*

How can the infamous hand wave pic not ever be posted up? but somehow it seems more like a SUMPAH pose?

Maka Kami

Akan menumpukan seluruh tenaga dan usaha kami
Untuk mencapai cita cita sebagai MISS MALAYSIA UNIVERSE 2008!!!
